Local Eats and Drinks.

NY Bagels.

Authentic NY bagels, hot and fresh and just a minute down the road. M&J bagels is located in the shopping center at the entrance to Hunter Mtn. Grab a dozen early morning, they’re that good.

NY Pizza.

Mamma Mia’s. Down the road, located a few yards from the entrance to Hunter Mtn. It’s real good. We pick-up, delivery isn’t great up here.

Burgers & Soft Serve.

Mamma’s Boy is a few miles away in Tannersville. It’s a roadside attraction type spot. Outdoor tables, energetic vibe. The burgers and veg options will have you justifying why it’s ok to eat a burger and fries 3-days in a row. Famous for its soft serve ice cream, it’s a great spot to indulge and/or take the the kids.

Scribner’s Lodge.

About a mile from the house, Scribner’s is a vibey, hip hotel with a great menu and big views. They have a happening pool scene in the Summer and DJ hosted Apres’ ski happy hour in the Winter. The restaurant is called Prospect — everything is delish, in particular, the Risotto is always on my mind. Great fries too.

Jagerberghall.

Alpine-themed watering hole with a cozy vibe serving Bavarian cooking with a real deal beer list & fancy house cocktails. Stylish design, fun outdoor dining set-up in the summer and a big Apres’ ski scene post-slopes in the Winter. Homemade pretzels, Brats, Sauerkraut, Strudel…it’s a fav spot for locals and visitors.

The Deer Mountain Inn.

Need something a little fancier? Head to the Deer Mountain Inn for a seasonal tasting menu by a michelin-starred chef. They also host great weekend pop-ups with celebrated NYC chefs. Beautiful hotel, majestic grounds — hang and enjoy a cocktail and a bite.

Chalet Fondue.

Take a trip back to 1983 and enjoy the campiness of this Swiss inspired fondue house. It’s one of our favorite spots. Get the cheese fondue appetizer, we like the filet fondue entree for two as our main. Toni, our regular server is the absolute best. It’s perfection all around. Chalet Fondue is 7miles down the road in Windham, which is also a super cute town.

Phoenicia Diner.

Have you even been to the Catskills if you haven’t been to the Phoenicia Diner. Yes, it is a diner. But it is also so much more. One of those places you have to visit to understand the hype. But it's all real.

Bear & Fox Provisions.

Best coffee in Tannersville. Terrific healthy/tasty menu. Plan to drop about 800% more than you intended to spend on a coffee run, they have the most unique and irresistible gifts and gear. You will buy more than coffee, go in knowing that and you’re good.

FELLOW.

Say Hello to the hippest new cafe in Hunter. Fellow is perfection. Great coffee, killer menu (best breakfast sammy ever), unique selection of grab an go goodies and groceries AND fresh flowers.

Jessie’s Harvest House.

Great menu, fun local atmosphere. Staff is friendly, bar is a nice hang. Definitely make reservations, it can be hard to get a table.

Hunter Mtn. Brewery.

Hunter’s local watering hole. Indoor and Outdoor seating, always draws a crowd. The food is really very good (the test is are the wings good and they are). Special mention…there are a few authentic Indian dishes on the menu and they are legit. Don’t think too hard about why a brew pub has tikka masala and nann on the menu, just consider ordering it. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.
